Did you ‘thrive’, or simply ‘survive’ in 2016?
As we start a new year, I have been giving thought to this site, and what it’s future will be in 2017. What I know for sure is that of all the core concepts this site embodies, and one of the main ideas that I wish to continue to rise to the top is: ‘positivity’. As I’ve said before, one of the main dangers we as chronic illness patients face is a myopic outlook focused solely on how we ‘don’t feel good’. Now, that’s not to say there isn’t a time and place for that. Moreover, there is a level of pain and discomfort that cannot be minimized or ignored.
That being said, the idea I would like to address here is the very real possibility of flourishing within the average day-to-day discomforts of Fibromyalgia. Even though there is always some level of pain with Fibromyalgia, outside of a bad flare day, we can learn how to rise above our less than ideal physical circumstances. I also want to THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for the readership, encouragements, and support all of you have shown me in the past year. You have all done me a great service in my own experience in living with chronic illness by allowing me to come here several times a week to share with you what I am learning, and to join you in ‘community’ through this website.
