How was your ‘self-care’ during the month of September?
As we walk through the last Sunday of the New Year, its time to reflect on how we took care of ourselves this past month. Most of us have spent the last four weeks recuperating from the holidays, and more than likely fighting off one virus or the other.
If your ‘self-care’ was not the best…don’t despair! This coming week holds the beginning of a whole new month ripe with possibilities! Don’t waste too much time regretting poor choices. This week I engaged in an exercise that could be considered an ‘investment’ in future self-care. My son was over the house on Wednesday waiting for his car to be serviced. As we talked about my future ‘chicken plans’, he mentioned I should expand on my tiny herb garden in the backyard. Three days later, we completed a 16′ by 9′ vegetable garden in the SW corner of the property!
Although this was a lot of work on the front end, it will bring many hours of good ‘self-care’ in the months to come. Gardening is a soothing and relaxing exercise. Plus, growing delicious organic produce to supplement your diet is a wise choice…thanks Boy!
