‘Self-Care’ Sunday ~ 1/29/2017

How was your ‘self-care’ during the month of  September?

As we walk through the last Sunday of the New Year, its time to reflect on how we took care of ourselves this past month. Most of us have spent the last four weeks recuperating from the holidays, and more than likely fighting off one virus or the other.

If your ‘self-care’ was not the best…don’t despair! This coming week holds the beginning of a whole new month ripe with possibilities! Don’t waste too much time regretting poor choices. Start now by determining to take the necessary steps to provide yourself with a good overall healthcare routine.

Don't despair! A whole new month to practice good 'self-care' is almost here! Click To Tweet

This week I engaged in an exercise that could be considered an ‘investment’ in future self-care. My son was over the house on Wednesday waiting for his car to be serviced. As we talked about my future ‘chicken plans’, he mentioned I should expand on my tiny herb garden in the backyard. Three days later, we completed a 16′ by 9′ vegetable garden in the SW corner of the property!

Although this was a lot of work on the front end, it will bring many hours of good ‘self-care’ in the months to come. Gardening is a soothing and relaxing exercise. Plus, growing delicious organic produce to supplement your diet is a wise choice…thanks Boy!

What did your ‘self-care’ consist of this week? Remember, it can be anything that benefits you! Share with all of us here in the chronic community what works for you. It can be: a product you make & sell, an Etsy shop, a hobby, a relaxation technique, a trip you took, a recipe you’d like to share, ect.!

Send me an email: kristine@alifewellred.com, or share below in the comment section. Photos are most welcome, but definitely NOT necessary! I will include/promote what you send to me on next week’s ‘Self-Care’ Sunday post. Let’s all share the ♥ and help each other out!…(now that’s a little bit of self-care right there!)

Kristine, I so agree with you about gardening, and I really must set about reviving my garden this year! Three important parts of my self-care are daily exercise, regular massages, and tea. I am not bothered by the caffeine in tea (though coffee does horrible things to me!), so I have cups of tea throughout the day and evening. It’s my favorite comfort “food” and it’s a ritual that forces me to take breaks. I don’t sell anything on my blog (food blog), but I happen to be doing an organic tea giveaway this week.
