Perfect Gadgets To Protect Your Painful Hands With Fibromyalgia!

September 8

Do you experience the shock of unexpected hand pain while going about your everyday tasks like I do?

Perfect gadgets to protect your painful hands may be at the top of your ‘must have’ list. Summer is in the rearview mirror, and the cold season is approaching fast. If you are like me, any FMS pain you experience in your hands during the warm months, becomes 10x worse during the winter.

Going about my everyday chores, I often get sharp, jarring sensation in my hands and fingers. So, any tool that help to alleviate those sudden burts of pain is most welcome.

Since my previous list of Fibro hand friendly tools has been one of the most re-pinned on my Pinterest account, I thought it might be time to compile a new list of ‘handy’ dandy gizmos that make our life easier and less painful.

  • These ‘Soft Grocery Bag Handle Holders‘ can carry multiple shopping bags at once. No more hooking heavy bags onto the ends of your fingers as you try to carry as many as possible in one trip! (Not sure why they are sold by a company called ‘Naughty Gifts’…best not to ask…) $7.99 for 4 pieces

  • I LOVE this ‘Automatic Can Opener‘! Although at $29.99 it is a little pricey, I can tell you from first hand experience you want to own one of these babies. It fastens on and turns itself around the lid as it opens the can while smoothing out any sharp edges to eliminate accidently cutting yourself.

  • Last, but not least, are the fashionable and essential ‘Hand Warmers’! Now, this is another splurge, but I ADORE the fashion styles at Sundance Catalogue! These high quality ‘Fleece Lined Hand Warmers’ come in 7 different colors, and sell for $30 a pair. Maybe something to add to your Christmas wish list?…

Terrific post. I shared this with my wife, Aliyah, who has fibromyalgia and she loves your suggestions. In fact, she tweeted out your article. I’m definitely going to get her the handwarmers. She’s very sensitive to cold (and humidity when it’s cooler) and I think these beautiful, fingerless warmers will be perfect! Really appreciate your suggestions. If you have additional suggestions for other body garments (elbow or knee sleeves, etc.), they’d be appreciated, too. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Reuven! I hope she enjoys the hand warmers, they are lovely. I will keep your suggestion in mind, thank you! 🙂

I love the bag handles. I catch myself grabbing my bags to walk to the car if I have little enough, and they bags hurt my fingers. They are sore and swollen when I put them down. This is such a great idea, along with the others, and I have no idea why they are offered by a company called “Naughty Gifts” LOL That makes me giggle a bit!

Do those gloves have the fingers in them ? They don’t look like it from looking at the picture !

I don’t think they do Lori. Check with the site to be sure, but I generally like mine fingerless so I can still do things with my hands. But, then I live in the desert, so it rarely gets cold enough to warrant ‘normal’ winter wear. Good luck 😉
