A few things I am enjoying right now;

}Quotes pertaining to summer~

“I almost wish we were butterflies and liv’d but three summer days – three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain.”
John Keats, Bright Star: Love Letters and Poems of John Keats to Fanny Brawne

“Bees do have a smell, you know, and if they don’t they should, for their feet are dusted with spices from a million flowers.”
Ray Bradbury, Dandelion Wine  (This one’s for you Jake!)

}Figs from a friend~

~Fresh Fig Preserves~

~4 dozen fresh figs stemmed and quartered

~3/4 cup raw organic honey

~1 Tbsp Grand Marnier / or 2 tsp orange extract

On med heat stir figs and honey for 5 min.  Transfer to food processor, process till smooth.  Cook for additional 20 min. on med-low heat, stirring often until thickened. (use a splatter shield to avoid blistering bubble pop shrapnel).  Remove from heat, stir in liquor or extract.

    I watched Bright Star, when I rented it I didn’t know it was about John Keats. I had heard of Keats but didn’t remember why. This movie moved me so much. I now have it forever. Than you for sharing some of his poetry. It moved me all over again.

    That is a beautiful Keats quote. Thank you for reminding me of it. He was one of the few writers that studying for exams didn’t ruin. #sharewithme
