Colder Weather~{How To Not Be Defeated By The Cold Weather With Fibromyalgia}

It’s finally set in.  We generally have mild winters here in Phoenix, but a cold front has settled over the region for the past week.  I love this time of year, but the cold weather and Fibromyalgia flare-ups definitely go hand in hand.  Last night was the first night in a long time where the pain woke me up, several times.  It’s as if the cold of the day accumulates in the body and waits to seep into your bones while you sleep.  Stabbing pains in my hands, and painful hips were on tap for last night’s attempt at visiting dream land.

However, I am still determined to take up learning to play the guitar here shortly!  I have recently found my biological father, and discovered that I come from a long line of singer/songwriters.  I will share more on that as I get pictures and videos from my newly found Aunt Brenda.  In the meantime, here is a favorite tune of mine apropos to the theme of this post~

Those of us with chronic pain must choose not to allow it to rob of us the things we love to do.  It may slow us down a bit, but we ‘keep on keepin’ on….
Now, I wouldn’t say I love to do crafts.  I’ve never given myself the label of ‘crafty person’.  But, occasionally I do come across something that strikes my fancy.  I saw these Christmas mason jars on Pinterest and decided to try my hand at a few~
Vintage Christmas Car Mason Jars

~mason jar, any size of choice
~old vintage Matchbox cars
~miniature craft Christmas trees
~snow of choice, glitter/confetti/ect.
~twine or leather cord
~epoxy glue
Clean jars.  Tie the tree to car up under the wheels (may need to trim length of tree to fit car size).  Dab glue underneath the wheels and press car down where you want to place it in jar.  Allow to dry overnight.  Add snow.

    The cold front still hasn’t hit in the UK, we’ve only had one frost so far, it feels like it should still be early October rather than early December! I love those mason jars, I’ve never seen anything like them, so cute 🙂 x

    First, winter is not my favorite time of year, I don’t have Fibromyalgia, but I have Hughes Syndrome, the heat gets to me, the cold, rain, dampness, lol I have no idea where the best place to live would be! UG! But I love these jar decorations. They are so cool, and different. I had seen some before but had no idea where to find the cars with Christmas trees, You put the trees on yourself! LOL Pinning to remember, I want a few of these!

      Any affliction that affects the joints seems to get worse in the cold, so I’m with ya! I LOVE that you were looking for cars with trees ‘on’ them! So cute! lol!!! 🙂

    You should live in Canada, especially northern Canada. Cold and damp where I live and very little sun so have SAD as well. Hate winter!

      oooo! Bummer! I do love when we have rain here, because we get so little, but I wouldn’t want to live in it 24/7!
